Solomon’s Landing
It’s not uncommon to read that a restaurant boasts a varied menu. Many restaurants do. But you’d be hard pressed to find any as varied or joyful as the one put together by chefs Silviano Orozco and Brian Solomon at the Cabo San Lucas Marina hotspot Solomon’s Landing. The lengthy menu includes everything, and we mean everything: appetizers, soups, salads, gringo-friendly dinners, Mexican specialties, and sushi among them. Vegetables are cooked crisp yet tender, the filet mignon is more than one-inch thick, and the sauce on the fish is exquisite. For those with larger appetites, try the 25-ounce T-bone porterhouse steak for roughly $30 U.S. Large, sweet, full-bodied lobster tails, jumbo shrimp, and fresh sushi are specialties. Strolling mariachis can be slipped a few pesos to provide traditional Mexican music to enhance your dining experience. It’s always been one of the best spots in Cabo, starting with its humble beginnings as an open bar and taco-hamburger stand. Now it’s a fine dining establishment that recently launched catering services. Dinner ranges from $15 to $20 U.S.; breakfast $8 to $10 U.S.; lunch $10 to $15 U.S. Boulevard Marina, Cabo San Lucas, (624) 143-7606, www.solomonslanding

Solomon’s Landing
The first restaurant I visited in Los Cabos was Solomon’s Landing, and the popular marina eatery has remained a favorite ever since. Few restaurants in Los Cabos—or anywhere I’ve seen—boast the wide selection available at Solomon’s Landing. Its menu reads like a novel, a very delicious novel. And, even better, the capable kitchen churns out flavorful dishes at prices that are hard to beat. For a special morning treat, come in the early morning to watch the sun rise over the yachts, superyachts, and catamarans that dock in the Cabo San Lucas Marina. Dine on a traditional Mexican breakfast of huevos rancheros or chilaquiles verdes, fried tortillas bathed in a piquant green salsa, that you can pair with fresh-squeezed orange juice. You could go healthy with a tropical fruit plate or really indulge with a waffle that comes stuffed with apple compote and topped with blueberry compote and whipped cream. The lunch and dinner menus are equally impressive; highlights include the 25-ounce porterhouse steak, about $30 U.S., and spicy hand rolls stuffed with crab, cucumber, and avocado. Dinner ranges from $15 to $20 U.S.; breakfast $8 to $10 U.S.; lunch $10 to $15 U.S. Like what you tasted? Solomon’s also has catering services to make every special occasion to the next level.
