There’s a full breakfast menu with the fluffiest omelets in town, served from 7 a.m. Box lunches can be ordered for fishing expeditions. The lunch menu affords the diner a range of options from appetizers, salads and soups to entrees. The Caesar salad dressing is made from entirely scratch. Crispy coconut shrimp with yummy sweet and sour sauce, Spicy Chili Poppers (deep fried jalapeño chilies stuffed with cream cheese) served with ranch dressing and jelly, and three sizes of Sashimi Platters are a few of the many delectable starter items offered. Traditional Mexican courses abound from enchiladas to seafood burritos. Gringo fare of burgers, dogs, chicken and fish sandwiches are served first-class with all the fixin’s and fries to make you feel right at home.
Try the Tender Pacific Lobster with Filet Mignon. The lobster is steamed then seared in butter, and the filetthe most tender Sonoran beef. Fresh Catch of the Day is served eight different ways and the Seafood Combo Platter with lobster, jumbo shrimp and fish for two at market price is not to be missed. The small exquisitely tender and juicy scallops from Baja’s Magdalena Bay prepared in a light coating of corn flakes are memorable.
Señor Solomon’s New Orleans BBQ Chicken and Rib plates arrive in a secret sauce developed back in Cajun country where he learned his craft.
The sushi menu offerings include maki rolls, nigiri, sashimi, cones and a garden of sushi salads. The sushi bar includes traditional drinks such as sakes served warm or chilled, Japanese beers, and even a martini with sake, vodka, and a dash of wasabi (known as Japanese horseradish). Hold onto your sombrero!
The bar is replete with premium liquors and the bartenders can make all the tropical drinks you can imagine (and even some you can’t imagine). They use only fresh fruit in their coladas, daiquiris and margaritas. Look out for the Tempura Ice Cream! Battered, deep-fried and covered with chocolate, whipped cream and a cherry this postre will postpone that New Year’s resolution for another year.
