Known for its delicious seafood and traditional Mexican dishes, MigueLocos is a very casual and friendly downtown Cabo San Lucas restaurant with great meals at even greater prices.
This is the kind of spot that makes you feel like part of the family from the moment you walk in the door and is a favorite among tourists and locals. The credit, of course, goes to the owners: expat Mike Hill and his lovely wife, Josefina, a descendant of an English whaler who two centuries ago jumped ship in Cabo San Lucas.
The decor is unpretentious—the walls are covered with old photos of Cabo, colorful banners hang from the ceiling, and woven Mexican tablecloths drape the tables. The food and drinks are excellent, the prices just right, and the ambience warm and friendly. Most evenings an in-house singer-guitarist duo belt out ballads and American oldies. Hill often chimes in, his golden voice making the twosome a trio. It’s easy to join in the fun and sing along. Go right ahead. You’re part of the family here.
Located in the heart of downtown Cabo, directly across from the plaza bandstand on Hidalgo Street, MigueLocos features both covered outdoor seating and air-conditioned indoor dining.

The restaurant is also home to Cabo’s longest bar, which measures 40 feet, and boasts two 42-inch flat-screen TVs for viewing sports action. The full bar’s affordable drink list includes cervezas at a very reasonable $2.50 U.S., margaritas for only $3.50, and all your favorite mixed drinks.
Highlights of the traditional Mexican menu include combo platters, molcajetes served in volcanic stone bowls, seafood, and delicious grilled Sonoran steaks that weigh in at a pound or more.
Prices range from $9 U.S. for chile rellenos to about $27 for the MigueLocos Seafood Combo platter of lobster, shrimp, fish, and steak. Most dinner entrées fall between $10 $20, and Sunday brunch is a bargain at only $7.95.
Take home a bottle of MigueLocos’s Tequila Arco del Cabo, a blend made in Jalisco especially for the restaurant. The one-of-a-kind bottle was designed after the famous arch at Land's End. |
