Mamma Mia Pizza & Pasta has been bringing scrumptious Mediterranean cuisine and oh-so-low prices to the area since 2007.

Catering primarily to locals, and tourists with cars, is the newer locale, situated between Costco and Walmart on the highway. The perfect option for those on foot, however, is its first location directly across from the Amelia Wilkes Plaza in downtown Cabo. The décor in both locations is ultra casual, consisting of comfortable plastic chairs, and, at first glance resembles the typical pizza joint found in any small town. The menu, and the flavor in the food itself, though, is nothing short of astounding! In addition to an overwhelming list of pizza styles, Mamma Mia also offers homemade pastas, calzones, and fresh salads. Start with a traditional, yet not so traditional, Caprese salad. Besides mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and fresh basil, Mamma Mia´s version also comes with corn and mushrooms, all over a bed of crisp Romaine lettuce. The bruschetta, with tomatoes, basil, olive oil, and olives is another substantial appetizer. Lasagna lovers are in for a treat here, where three varieties, served in huge helpings, are made fresh daily. All three, priced between $8 US and $10 US, have a delectable blend of parmesan, mozzarella, and even ricotta cheeses, but the Lasagna Mia also boasts ham, mushrooms, and bell peppers. Salads and pasta aside, the pizza is what you´ll really drool over.

The menu of more than twenty variations on this authentic Italian pie contains everything from simple cheese to the most creative, and even fruity, combinations. Sizes include personal, family, and extra-extra large and go from $5 US to $28 US, for the XXL shrimp combinations. Select either a white or red sauce to cover the fairly thin Mamma Mia crust and build from there. The specialty pizzas generally contain more exotic ingredients and are definitely worth perusing. Go for eggplant, mango, chicken, and zucchini, in addition to more traditional toppings like mushrooms, ham, sausage, and artichoke hearts.
