A message from the editor
Every year we witness more and more growth here in the Los Cabos area of Baja California Sur. In just a decade weve become Méxicos premier resort destination and the championship golf course capital of Latin America. Since 1993 Los Cabos Magazine has been the definitive source of detailed and up to date information for anyone visiting our sunny shores.
While our golf courses may be wowing visitors, our fabled fishing and watersports cant go unmentioned. No other destination in the world rivals Los Cabos for the variety and number of fish caught year round. Our remarkable beaches front some of the best dive and snorkel sites in the Northeastern Pacific.
As Los Cabos grows so do our resort offerings. Hotel and vacation club rooms have almost doubled in five years, from over 5,000 in 1998 to nearly 10,000 in 2004. From El Faro Viejo north of Cabo San Lucas to Puerto Los Cabos east of San José del Cabo, new hotels and resorts, a 400-slip marina and town center, and more championship golf courses are all breaking ground.
Los Cabos is evolving, becoming more cosmopolitan as executive chefs and professionals from México and around the world arrive to enrich our culinary and cultural landscape. The number of new restaurants is astounding. This issue weve added ten pages to our dining feature. The 50,000-square foot Puerto Paraiso Shopping and Entertainment Plaza on the marina in Cabo San Lucas has given our fishing village an upscale venue to shop, dine, meet friends for a drink or take in a first run film. New residential communities are making it possible for even more visitors to call Los Cabos their full or part-time home.
Only a few hours from most North American gateways, Los Cabos is a safe friendly destination with few crowds. Daily flights to Los Cabos have increased with more major airlines serving our area than ever before.
Created in Los Cabos, our magazine will continue to feature the inside information our readers have come to expect. Los Cabos Visitors Guide, our sister publication, provides detailed guide information in a compact format. Our comprehensive website: www.loscabosguide.com continues to grow daily, offering visitors online access to current information. If youre not familiar with our voucher program offering savings of 10 to 35% on Los Cabos restaurants, activities, shopping and hotels youll find all the information you need on our site.
Welcome to Los Cabos. We know that our magazine will help you to discover the best of our exciting and diverse destination.
