La Golondrina is in a beautiful outdoor garden setting on Paseo del Pescador, the road to the Hotel Meliá San Lucas. The building, one of the few pre-20th century structures left standing after devastating hurricanes, was built on the site of an old trading post. Traders returned faithfully year after year and the post became known as the swallow, or La Golondrina, a name which has endured to this day. While not a view property, the ambience at La Golondrina is romantic, especially during a full moon. Most of the seating is outside with ample dining space in the bar and additional space for groups in a large private room. Portions are large with an incredible array of entrées. Seafood is in abundance, with everything from steamed crab to hefty lobsters in endless variations.
