If you love lobster, this is the place. If you love good food, this is definitely the place. Don’t let the big barn of a location fool you. Lovbster is perfect for casual dining. Located in downtown Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabos, Mexico, it has six televisions, a bar, wooden benches, teak chairs, and a grill that emits delicious aromas.
Even in this rustic setting, there is a certain fine dining feel when the food is brought to the table. Don’t let the name fool you, either. If you love salads, burgers, appetizers, and lobster, Luvster is the place.
For starters, try the avocado stuffed with lobster or the lobster taquitos with chipotle on a flour tortilla swiped with beans. (I can’t wait to go back for the lobster tacos.) Or, you can have shrimp in the shell, or avocado stuffed with shrimp salad, or any kind of shellfish or even steak, including Chateaubriand for two for only $40 U.S.
The lobster here is prepared Puerto Nuevo style (a thrill to those who have traveled the Baja Peninsula) as part of the house special for two (or three); it includes 2.2-pound lobster tails, tortillas, guacamole, beans, rice, and salsa for $60 U.S. Marina Boulevard at Cabo San Lucas Boulevard (across from the Wyndham), Cabo San Lucas, (624) 105-1190. Daily 8 a.m.–11 p.m. MasterCard and Visa accepted. $–$$$ S.B.

Croatian slow roasted prime rib, steaks, roast pork loin, chicken fried steak, Philly cheese steak and meatloaf dinners bring diners back again and again (so do the drinks). Burger fans will love the selection of burgers, pilfered from famous burger spots (some you’re sure to recognize). They’ll cook your catch and swap big one stories with you, or order their daily local catch. Big portions, small prices, friendly service. Good breakfast choices, too. Prices run from $5-7 U.S. for burgers and appetizers. Entrées from $8 to 12 U.S. (for the prime rib dinner, a bargain).
A colorful local hangout popular with long time expatriates, you won’t find this type of roadhouse anywhere else around Cabo San Lucas. Open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., closed Tuesdays, with seating for 120, find them up behind the power plant, southwest of Costco. See you there.
Excerpt from Los Cabos Magazine #9 - by Sabrina Lear.
On March 3, 2004, Latitude 22+ moved to its new location along the Transpeninsular Highway at Km 4.5. The new Latitude 22+ Roadhouse Restaurant Bar seats 120 patrons with ample parking and cooks over a mesquite grill with a mesquite oven. |
