Irma’s Restaurant Bar. Sometimes the best places to eat are off the beaten path, but with food good enough to inspire a road trip. Irma’s is such a place especially if you are looking for really good Mexican food at affordable prices. Examples include empanadas (Mexican turnovers) stuffed with spinach, mushrooms and a Mexican “ricotta” cheese, huevos del rancho, the equivalent to “Steak ‘n Eggs”: fried tortillas served with arrechera steak topped with eggs, covered with ranchero sauce. Weekend specials include menudo, a hearty, spicy soup and barbacoa, the Mexican version of a bar be que with roasted meat. Fresh tortillas are made on the premises. Irma Ramirez and her husband Jim Scigliano’s slogan is “The place for good eating” and they mean every word of it. Full bar. Open 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Sunday – Thursday, until 10 p.m. Friday & Saturday serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. MasterCard and Visa accepted.
