Located in the heart of old town Cabo San Lucas, this mainstay fittingly resides in Restaurant Row. Chef-owner, Spencer Moore, has made a name for himself serving up some of the best Mexican fare south of the border. What started as a taco stand many years ago, is now a delightful eatery serving Mexican fusion and local seafood. Felix’ gives a nod to the true spirit of Mexico while mixing it up with gringo favorites.
Example: potato pancakes made with chopped jalapeños (ask for them in case they are not on the menu) or crab cakes with mango salsa. Speaking of salsa, Felix’ has an endless salsa bar with about 20 items at any given time such as black bean salsa, one made of roasted corn and sweet red peppers, a peanut mixture, the usual pico de gallo, and the hottest of hot, habañero chiles in sour orange with a warning sign attached to it!
On the safer side, a traditional dish rarely found in too many places outside of its origination point of the city of Puebla can be enjoyed at Felix’. Chiles en Nogada is popular throughout the country on September 15, Independence Day since the colors of the dish are those of the Mexican flag, red, white and green. Whether hungry for Mexican food or seafood, Felix’ offers an extensive menu with unique recipes in a quaint setting reminiscent of what a restaurant might have looked like back when Cabo was just a fishing village.
Entrees from $14 to $20 US. Seating for 40 inside and 40 on the patio, where Marichis may stroll by to serenade you with a romantic song.
