With comfortable wooden patio furniture and colorful touches in its decor, a palapa roof providing ample shade, and excellent views of the marina, the restaurant has been a favorite among locals and tourists for more than a dozen years.

“Our fish is so fresh that we have to slap it” is not just the motto here, but a mission statement. The fish tacos are a house specialty, battered in beer with an array of fresh salsas. Also popular are the blackened catch of the day appetizer with Cajun spices, capers, and onions, and the Captain Tony’s catch of the day wrapped in foil with shrimp, vegetables, and spices. It is nearly impossible to go wrong here with any of the seafood dishes, and lovers of the langostura will enjoy sharing the lobster tail for two.

The restaurant also has a “you hook it, we cook it” option, whereby anglers can turn their catch over to chef Polo Crispin to be prepared to their specifications for $7 U.S. per person. In addition to its terrific seafood, Captain Tony’s is also known for its incredible house-made, wood-smoked pizzas. Prepared in an a beautiful old wood fired brick oven, these pies have become a signature item, and are frequently ordered for carryout by time-crunched locals; these mozzarella-topped masterpieces can be more properly appreciated by those with the time to linger at the restaurant. There are nearly a dozen delicious options, but the most popular is undoubtedly the Captain Tony’s pizza with shrimp and crispy bacon. There are also a host of Mexican specialty dishes available, including nachos, quesadillas, chimichangas, enchiladas, fajitas, and an exceptional tortilla soup.

Children will delight in the nachos, fajitas, and pizzas, one of the reasons Captain Tony’s is so prized as a family-friendly destination. Adults will be more than pleased by the lunch and dinner specials that offer guests a three-course meal of soup or salad, entrée, and a dessert, as well as glass of beer, wine, or fresh fruit water, all of which can be enjoyed while the kids dig into an order of nachos and a cold soda. Prices are quite reasonable at Captain Tony's, with most dinner items in the $7 to $12 U.S. range. Breakfast and lunch are also available. Plans are currently in the works to extend business hours on weekends, giving late-night revelers access to the best pizzas on the marina, as well as a large array of beers, wines, cocktails, and prime people watching. It is expected that live music and deejays will also be featured, although no date has been set yet for this expansion of services.
