Shortly after opening the Los Cabos Winery in Cabo San Lucas, proprietor Robert Turnage and his wife started serving dinner to wine enthusiasts who find their way to this romantic hideaway in the midst of town. The decor at Cabo Winery Restaurant seduces and tantalizes both the sophisticated diner and the trendsetter. The eclectic interior is compatible with its innovative menu; guests can sit on comfortable sofas, at cocktail tables, or at dining tables, either in air-conditioned comfort or on the large veranda. A full bar is separate from the lounge area where wine tastings are held. A regular wine tasting of four wines is $10 U.S.; seven wines for $19 U.S. Purchase a bottle of wine and a four-wine tasting is free. Diners can view the wine “cave” from the main living-dining room where a five-course seated dinner can be enjoyed (call for reservations). Tapas are the order for most, allowing an ample taste of such delicious dishes as coconut or chile-garlic shrimp, a Caprese salad, sea bass with toasted garlic, or several items for meat lovers all reasonably priced at $6.00 U.S. to $14.00 U.S. for a meat and cheese plate.

Dinner-size plates are double portions of the tapas and are accompanied with salad, rice, and sautéed vegetables for $14.00 U.S. to $63.00 U.S. for the Land and Sea (family style platter - 2 persons or more). You can pair your choices with a variety of wines from the California Napa Valley. Start or finish with a refreshing sparkling wine and enjoy white or red wine tastings with your tapas or dinner. Ask the waiter for the evening dessert. Enjoy soft jazz and light classical piped music. Piano entertainment on Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. Seating for 32, or 55 for groups. Open for wine tastings and lunch daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Open for wine tasting, tapas and dinner from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
