Of the top ten international golf destinations of the world, Mexico ranked tenth in 1996. This situation changed dramatically in 1997 when Mexico leaped into second spot behind Hawaii. How did Mexico manage to surpass such popular golf destinations as the Caribbean within one year? We believe it was because the world's golfers discovered championship golf in Los Cabos.

The Robert Trent Jones II classically designed Cabo Real Championship Golf Course offers 7,000 yards of lush landscape with every hole overlooking The Sea of Cortes, featuring three ocean front holes, and the sixth hole at 460
feet above sea level.

The Cabo Real Championship Golf Course was the scene of the 1996 PGA Senior Slam, in 1999 the event will return to Cabo Real to be held at the new Jack Nicklaus designed El Dorado Golf Course. This 18 hole ocean championship course will be completed in the winter of 1998 with six oceanfront holes on the Sea of Cortes. Carved from the rugged terrain of the desert by the sea resort, Cabo Real's magnificent courses will rekindle a player's passion for both golf and this area of Baja California as they play their way through the diverse and picturesque designs where the Sea of Cortes is never out of sight.
