	The Cabo Jazz Escape, an annual Jazz festival held in Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabos, Mexico is produced by the Cabo Jazz Festival Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the United States. The funds generated from the event each year will be used to develop and support music programs in the Cabo San Lucas public schools.
The December 2006 event has been cancelled

The coordinators of the Cabo Jazz Escape have cancelled the event. They were not able to secure enough funding in order to produce a quality show in December 2006. The local supporter who had agreed to sponsor the event were Playa Grande, Solmar, Hilton and Alaska Airlines believe in the event and were supporting the Cabo Jazz Excape in a big way. "We are not giving up" says Leslie Lee one of the founding coordinators. "We are keeping the Foundation up and running and legal so that we leave the future open for the event." May 26, 2006

From last year's event This December 3-5, 2004 join hundreds of jazz fans in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for the first annual Cabo Jazz Escape. Friday evening kicks off the three-day festival with a Latin Jazz Dance Party featuring the Grammy award winning Poncho Sanchez at Cabo Wabo Cantina, Sammy Hagar's signature club. Saturday will feature a shot-gun golf tournament at the Raven Golf Club to benefit The Cabo Jazz Festival Foundation. On Saturday and Sunday evenings, on the edge of the Pacific Ocean and beneath the Baja stars, featured performers will be 6-time Grammy nominee singer Kurt Elling, 3-time Grammy nominee Danilo Perez and the incomparable violin virtuoso Regina Carter. Festival goers will experience spectacular sunsets and the rolling surf as they watch their favorite jazz performers from their seats on the oceanfront patio of the most exclusive resort in Cabo San Lucas, the new Playa Grande Resort The first weekend in December was chosen for this exclusive, limited-availability event in order to encourage fans to travel to Cabo when the weather is at its’ best but the Thanksgiving and Christmas crowds are nowhere to be seen. THE FOUNDER Leslie Lee founded the Cabo Jazz Festival Foundation in the spring of 2003 and the Foundation reflects her commitment to the Cabo San Lucas community and her passion for music. While living in Cabo San Lucas, she co-founded Amigos de los Ninos (Friends of the Children), a non-profit U.S./Mexican organization that since 1990 has provided medical care to thousands of local children each year.
