Blue Flag Beaches in Los Cabos

Currently, 2016 to 2017 season, there are 8 beaches in Mexico that hold the title of a Blue Flag Beach, three are in Los Cabos area of Baja California Sur.

In order to qualify for this prestigious Blue Flag Beach award, a series of stringent environmental, educational, safety-related and access-related criteria must be met and maintained to hold this special recognition. Three Blue Flag Beaches are located in the Los Cabos area.

Playa Chileno (Chileno Beach), Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabos, Mexico
Season: 2016-07-01 – 2017-06-30

Playa Santa María (Santa María Beach), Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabos, Mexico
Season: 2015-07-01 – 2016-06-30

Playa Palmilla (Palmilla Beach), San Jose del Cabo, Los Cabos, Mexico
Season: 2015-07-01 – 2016-06-30

The El Chileno and Palmilla Beaches recognised as the cleanest in the world.

Los Cabos, B.C.S. – Before the majestic scenery of the Playa El Chileno and Playa Palmilla, federal authorities of the National Water Commission, the Ministry of Tourism and Pronatura Mexico A.C. accompanied the mayor of Los Cabos, José Antonio Agúndez Montano, for the official hoisting of the Blue Flags at the beaches that were certified and recognized in the category of highest quality environmentally worldwide.
