February 12, 2014 – Great weather – warm and lots of sunshine. So happy to welcome travelers from all around the USA this week – lots of last minute travelers escaping the frigid cold back home!
DORADO + STRIPED MARLIN + WAHOO + SIERRA + YELLOWFIN TUNA
OK so its important to point out that the boats finding the Tuna are making a good run out – up to 30 miles out.
We don’t send single engine boats out more than around 5 miles from shore .. Single engine boats have enough horsepower to get their speed to 10-15 knots. To travel 10 miles that’s a good one hour run. And your time aboard includes travel distance to and fro.
The fish you are hunting do not wear calendars nor watches (!) They don’t pay attention when we change our clocks for daylight savings time (!!) They are following schools of bait (big underwater fish chain) and temperature breaks. That’s why we can find ‘offshore species’ inshore. But ‘inshore species’ will not be find far from home. They live in and amongst our rocky shoreline. They venture out to feed/breed and that’s when you catch them!

Return VIP Guests Keith & Lisa Lawson and 9 year old daughter Taylor – visiting from East Bethel, Minnesota are back to fish – The first time they fished with us, Lisa was pregnant with Taylor! Day one was a half day Monday with no suerte darn, and day two will be aboard panga #2.
New VIP Guests (and a successful share arrangement!) Matt & Lisa Richmond visiting from Woodstock, Ontario Canada along with Erik & Lisa Hoofnagel visiting from Chicago, Illinois fished Feb 11th on our 31′ Cabo Express and CR&R 3 Striped Marlin + boated 1 Yellowfin Tuna.
Fishing for the 4th year in a row VIP Guests James & Linda Evans from Farmington Hills, Michigan – this year aboard our 43′ Riviera. Day one Sun Feb 9th bounty CR&R 4 Striped Marlin + 4 Yellowfin Tuna
Putting on their own friendly fishing tournament are VIP Guests Brady, Jerry, Clark, Erik, Steve, JD, Dennis and Skip visiting from Hawthorne/Torrance California fishing on our 31′ Bertram #2 and #3 for a couple of exciting days. So far Team Brady on #2 are leading the bounty count – Both teams report CR&R 1 Striped Marlin + 2 Dorado + 1 Jack Crevalle + 1 Cabrilla (Grouper) and one bucket (old joke pulled on first timer Erik)
VIP Guests celebrating Anniversary #8 Reggie & Veronica Walters from Norco, California aboard our 26′ Cruiser successfully boating a boatload of Sierra (Spanish Mackeral – yummy ceviche and grilled)
First time visitors to Cabo VIP Guest Joe & Elizabeth Kiefer from Atlanta, Georgia “We decided to combine our first trip with getting out of Atlanta before the monster storm hit! Liz talked to neighbors and its awful back home. We love it here and just might stay forever!!” They fished today Feb 12th aboard our 37′ Bertram with newly made friends from Highland Colorado Rob & Sherie Fuscaldi – what a day they had! CR&R 8 Striped Marlin.
