Cabo Riviera – The Latest News

cabo-riviera-marina-2013_3854_r2Developers of the 920-acre luxury development Cabo Riviera continue to make steady progress. The Gringo Gazette reports that construction of a championship golf course is set to begin now that canals have been dredged for many of the homes.

The master-planned development is located in La Ribera, a town about one-and-a-half hours north of San Jose del Cabo on the Sea of Cortes side. Developers broke ground in 2008 and continue to invest a reported $1.1 million U.S. each month. The water-based community will eventually include a 285-slip marina and allow residents to enjoy eco-friendly, seaside living where they can easily access golfing, fishing, sailing, and more. An open-to-the-public artists village would feature restaurants, bars, art galleries, a church, and other businesses. No completion date for the development has been announced.

In the Gringo Gazette article, marketing manager Nydia Altamirano reported there are currently 430 water lots, including properties facing the ocean and others fronting the future golf course. Prices range from $300,000 U.S. for a 12,000-square-foot golf course lot to $6 million U.S. for half-acre beachfront properties. In addition to the home lots, there are 23 available slips, which come equipped with water, Wi-Fi, restrooms, electricity, showers, parking, and a launch ramp. Construction has begun on multimillion dollar beachfront homes has also begun.

Cabo Riviera is in negotiations with an unnamed five-star hotel that would manage the yet-to-be-developed golf course.
