Restaurateur John Venditti’s most recent venture specializes in American, Mexican, and Italian food. The spot, which is located in downtown Cabo’s historic Hotel Mar de Cortez, is attractive, modern, and a penny pincher’s delight. Baja Peppers was an immediate success when it debuted last December, thanks in no small part to the restaurant’s $3 U.S. breakfast, which comes with three eggs, bacon, old-country potatoes, fruit, and toast. The rest of the impressive menu is packed with delicious deals. The eggs Benedict, always a good measure of a restaurant’s quality, are divine—and so is the $5.75 U.S. price tag. Come lunch and dinner, menu highlights include traditional-style tortilla soup, Cuban-style penne pasta, ravioli, and the superb filet mignon (for only about $16 U.S.). Make sure to ask your server for the restaurant’s list of featured items, which changes daily. Are you looking for an affordable spot to take in your favorite game? Baja Peppers has a separate sports bar section; you can also drink and enjoy a happy hour menu at either of its two bars.
