HIKING THE WATERFALLS:
Experience the back roads of Baja en route to the foot of the Sierra La Laguna mountain range. Along the way you will readily view fields of mangos, corn, papaya, citrus and banana trees before reaching Santiago, an oasis in the middle of the desert.
Once in Santiago, stops include the natural spring, a visit to the mission site called Santiago de Los Coras and hiking. Hike the mountain range of the Sierra La Laguna that was traversed by indigenous people hundred of years ago. Here the increased levels of rainfall create a unique biosphere. Fresh water flows over huge granite boulders along with a waterfall that cascades into a natural pool where you can take a refreshing swim at the end of the hike.

A knowledgeable guide navigates a dry riverbed canyon sharing tales and theories of how the Baja peninsula came into existence. At the end of the canyon drive you will be introduced to a local family, descendents from generations of Mexicans born in Santiago, who own one of the most valuable mountain ranches in Baja. Time is plentiful for hiking the canyons of the Sierra La Laguna, experiencing the unique biosphere that the Pericues Indians cherished as their home. Or relax, unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature. Learn to make handmade tortillas and fresh salsa; all can be done before enjoying lunch next to the canyon with an unforgettable view and the local hospitality of Sr. Catarino and his family.

TODOS SANTOS EXPEDITION:
Everybody would love to make a short trip to the Bohemian town of Todos Santos, just north of Los Cabos. The beauty of the Baja Outback expedition to Todos Santos is that experiencing the natural environment, cactus, colored rock, animal habitats, mountains, and the occasional oasis is just as important.
Todos Santos is best known as a charming artists retreat with gourmet restaurants, art galleries, hand-craft shopping, and historical sites. Additionally, you will discover the Pacific side of the Baja Peninsula during the off-road excursion and have plenty of time to stop and take pictures.
Your journey begins outside the tourist area where rustic town’s people live. The real adventure starts when we off-road through the heart of the mountains. Small towns are established throughout the area and we will have the chance to stop in some of these villages and visit with some of the local residents.
Upon arrival, you will notice that Todos Santos overflows with inspirational and artistic visionaries, brimming with some of the best artists, musicians, and writers from around the world. Todos Santos is a must-see, must-do, and a must-experience that never leaves you disappointed.
Exploring art galleries featuring beautiful artwork by both National and International artists and browsing the numerous artisan shops is definitely a special treat. Lastly, Baja Outback offers participants a 3-course meal at La Coronela inside the
