Whether you are looking to explore waterfalls, discover a magical town, or kayak and snorkel some of the most beautiful bays in Mexico, the knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive team at Baja Outback has the tour for you.
HIKING THE WATERFALLS:
The first stop before arriving in Santiago, an oasis in the middle of the desert, is in Miraflores where you can observe traditional wood carving and leather-making processes. Along the way you will readily view fields of mangos, corn, papaya, citrus and banana trees before reaching Santiago. Hike the mountain range of the Sierra La Laguna that was traversed by indigenous people hundreds of years ago. Here the increased levels of rainfall create a unique biosphere.
Fresh water flows over huge granite boulders along with a waterfall that cascades into a natural pool where you can take a refreshing swim at the end of the hike.
Experience the back roads of Baja en route to the foot of the Sierra La Laguna mountain range. The first stop is in Miraflores where you can observe traditional wood carving and leather-making processes. At the end of the canyon drive you will be introduced to a local family, descendents of generations of Mexicans born in Santiago, who own one of the most valuable mountain ranches in Baja.
Time is plentiful for hiking the canyons of the Sierra La Laguna, experiencing the unique biosphere that the Yaqui Indians cherished as their home. Try the fresh honey or learn to make handmade tortillas; all can be done before enjoying lunch next to the canyon with an unforgettable view and the local hospitality of Sr. Catarino and his family.

TODOS SANTOS EXPEDITION:
Each participant has an opportunity to drive an H2 Humvee during the expedition, and all vehicles are equipped with a radio communication system. All Baja Outback expeditions are designed to be a learning experience, through interactions with the natural surroundings, ensuring the utmost safety while providing the most comfortable riding conditions for participants.
Your journey begins outside the tourist area and where the general population and rustic towns people live. Baja Outback shows all sides of our destination that many tourists do not have the chance to see. The real adventure takes place as we start the off road portion of the tour driving through the heart of the mountains. Small towns have been established throughout the area and we will have the chance to stop in some of these villages and visit with some of the local residents.
Local Crafts are available at some of the stops and small denomination currency is suggested to have on hand. Get to know the locals and perhaps see them working on their farms or creating their crafts for sale. View their homes and appreciate the tranquility of their every day life in their natural surroundings.
TOUR INCLUDE:

The San Jose Del Cabo Estuary is definitely the HEART of Los Cabos. The estuary nourished by the San Jose River, the only ever flowing river in the state, is home to many different species of local birds during most of the year.
This includes various endemic species; the xantus hummingbird, grey thrasher and the Belding’s yellowthroat. Join us on an amazing adventure in our sanctuary in the desert.
During the winter months guests have the opportunity to admire “local” northern birds on their winter plumage.
