3 Bay Adventure Review by Jose Luis Camarena.
What a wonderful way to spend a day in Los Cabos: Three detail-oriented and friendly guides leading the way as we kayaked and snorkeled the most spectacular bays in Los Cabos.
A guide met us at the steps of our hotel and provided an overview of the tour (with lots of information on both the area and the tour). Once at Playa Las Viudas, the guides gave us a short but informative briefing on safety and how to use the kayak. The operation was smooth, the blanket on the sand, the snorkeling gear all lined up, and the kayaks ready. The guides double-checked the equipment, and we kayaked our way out with the feeling of being in professional hands and for the firs-time kayakers a sense of safety mixed with a desire to enjoy the beautiful weather and the tranquil, clear waters of the Sea of Cortes.
The three-mile journey took us first to the Santa Maria Bay (half a mile away), stopping on the way to observe dramatic rock formations, the mix of sandstone as a background and the rugged beauty of the ocean shore creating an spectacular view.
As we entered Santa Maria, the rest of the crew, who helped us bring the kayaks to shore, greeted us. We then spent a great time snorkeling while the guides got our stuff ready to continue our journey. Energy bars and water were supplied, and, after another briefing, we took off toward Chileno Bay. As we were enjoying both the water and the marvelous view, a guide named Marcos pointed out to us a pair of magnificent whales just a few feet away!
